This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.
Remove the charger from the Laptop and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.
Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Laptop and use the pointer.

Just when I switched on tonight before working OK

ok, we will have to attempt a system restore.You will need to use Tab to switch between buttons ect, and space or enter to select.Power off the computerThen hold 0 (zero) and with it held down turn on the LaptopHold 0 until you get to a menu and then choose Trouble Shoot, then advance.Choose System Restore, then follow the onscreen steps to perform a restore choosing the last restore point.Let this complete and when it has, tell me please if the cursor is now working.
