Our Panasonic Viera three and a half year old 42 wide screen

Customer Question

Our Panasonic Viera three and a half year old 42 wide screen television switches itself off after about ten minutes. I rang Panasonic and was advised that the television was NOT at fault. We should (1) try reversing the HDMI lead. This did not work. (2) Buy a new HDMI lead. This did not work. (3) Replace the HD digital TV receiver. I have just tried to plug this is. All went well BUT after about ten minutes, as we were watching the screen searching for channels, the TV set switched itself off. Now we have no idea what to do. Can you help us, please? Is it the TV set? Does it need repairing? If so, how can we arrange for this? Our postcode is LA6 2RA. Thank you. J. A Naylor PS THE SET IS TOO HEAVY FOR US TO MOVE IT and we should need help with this, or is there a home visit possibility?

Hello, I'm Shahid and will be happy to assist you. I need additional info of TV symptoms to troubleshoot the problem. This is not an answer so do not rate it.- Can you please get me the model number written on back of TV?- What video devices/ sources (such as cable box DVD player etc) are connected to TV and does the problem occur on all video input sources?Thanks.

There is only the digital box, and this has three wires only out of it, the mains lead, and into the TV the HDMI lead and the aerial.

This is all we have had. The problem occurred with these plugged in.

It just keeps on blinking.

I thought I HAD SORTED IT, BUT NOW IT STAYED ON 3 HOURS AND THEN SWITCHED ITSELF OFF. I HAVE TAKEN AWAY THE SET TOP BOX AND NOW IT IS JUST THE SET PLUGGED IN TO THE MAINS.

aFTER IT SWITCHED ITSELF OFF I SWITCHED IT ON AGAIN, BUT IT ONLY STAYED ON LESS Than 2 minutes. Off, no light blinking at all.

If you can help, I shall not need the refund I asked for.
