Hello, I'm Shahid and will be happy to assist you. I need additional info to troubleshoot the issue. - What video devices/ sources (such as cable box DVD player etc) are connected to TV and does the problem occur on all video input sources? Thanks.

Do i need a seperate sound bar and what leads would I need
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.
OK, this TV has detachable speakers and speaker wires plugs into terminals at rear of TV where RCA video inputs are located. Please check if speakers are attached to TV and wires are plugged into speaker terminals and reply back to proceed further.Thanks.

What cable/cables do I need?
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.
A simple two wires that you would see on any speaker box to connect it to any amplifier etc. If there is no speaker attached to TV then get two speaker box and connect their wires into speaker terminals at back of TV to get TV sound. If there is any trouble then please provide me picture of rear of TV (especially the AV input jacks area) so I'll point out speaker terminals in that picture.

Please check following link to view exploded view taken from TV user manual where I marked speaker terminals with red box and I hope it will help to locate the terminals at rear of TV..
