The volume has gone up to maximum and won't adjust either directly

Resolved Question:

The volume has gone up to maximum and won't adjust either directly on the TV or with the remote. The remote fails to change channel or display the epg.
I have tried turning it off and on but no difference, I've powered off at the socket, no joy.

Thank you
As the first step, I saw you unplugged the power from the mains, but I would like you to do that and leave it unplugged for 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn on the TV and tell me if you still have the problem please.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did that for over an hour before but will do it again.

No need if you already did. Can you get to the menu on the TV?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, change the batteries in the remote. then try pleaseLet me know the results.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did that also yesterday
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
ok, then it confirms the problem sorry.
It is the internal memory that has faulted.
A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by trying to hard restart it.
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the TV to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
