Ok, great, also - what is the status of the Standby and Link lights on the soundbar when you try to pair it to the TV?
And what type of cable is the soundbar connected to the TV with?

I get an error message whe trying to connect my phone "Couldn't pair with [SAMSUNG] soundbar J-Series because of an incorrect PIN or Passkey

it is not connected with any cable....we had it connected wirelessly
Is there anything nearby that could be interfering with the wireless signal to the TV?
(eg. a fluorescent light, wireless router, mobile phone)

the blue light is solid on the Sub woofer and on the Soundbar itself it says "TV Sound Connect" then "TV Request"

I have had a look and can see nothing different relating to phones, routers, lights etc that would upset it. It just stopped working halfway through a film yesterday and the sound started commign through the TV
Ok, so it does not seem to be receiving the wireless signal from the TV..
Have you tried restarting both devices by powering them off for a few minutes, then turning them back on again?
