My MG5450 printer has a message saying that it needs repair

Resolved Question:

My MG5450 printer has a message saying that it needs repair under support code B200.
please tell me what this means

This is the mainboard that is faulting, it can be caused by a number of reasons so we will rule this out to confirm the root cause.
Can you do the following please and if after each step you still get the error , proceed to the next one and let me know the results
Step 1
Turn off the power
Open the panel
Turn on the power
Wait for print carriage to start moving to the left.
Let it go past half way
Before print carriage reaches left hand side shut the cover.
Leave the Printer turned on
Step 2:
Unplug the power cable.
Open the printer
Push the whole print head mechanic to the center
While the printer still open, plug the power and turn it ON.
When the printhead still moving and is going to the very LEFT, close the cover.
Wait until its boot up.
Step 3:
Take out all of the ink cartridges
Lift up the grey bar by where the ink goes
Left the print head in the middle of the printer all while the printer was off.
Step 4Clean the plastic head primers/cleaners themselves on the printer (the far right)
Then turn it on
Let me know if any of these steps resolve the error please.

Please explain where I find the grey bar after I have removed the ink cartridges?

It should be on the right, if you do not see it, pull on the print head and it should then snap out.

Thanks Richard. I never managed to find the grey bar and had to leave the project to do something else. Having left the printer off for about 7 hours I switched it on again and to my surprise it was working OK and continues to be OK, so many thanks for your help.Have a good Christmas.
