This is the canon site answer which I have tried (no joy) they say send to Surrey not an option. Is there a way to dismantle to free ink cart?
Expert:  *ElectronicsTech replied 1 year ago.
Yes, try these steps next. 1. Open the cover of the printer.2. Remove all ink tanks from the printer.3. Lift up the gray locking lever on the side of the ink tank holder.4. Gently remove the print head from the carriage unit.5. Place the print head back in and lock the lever down.6. Place all of the ink tanks back in the printer.7. Close the cover and turn the printer off.8. Unplug the power from the printer. Leave the power unplugged for about 5-10 minutes.

cannot remove inks as the cart is in the parked position and will not centre
Expert:  *ElectronicsTech replied 1 year ago.
Okay, try removing the power cord, the reconnect power while the cover is open. Then manually push the inkhead to the center with gentle force.

sorry have tried everything to move ink head but it is stuck solid. The unit makes a noise and lifts at the front but does not move and the error message returns
Expert:  *ElectronicsTech replied 1 year ago.
Okay, sometimes the inkhead gets stuck and can be unstuck by pushing on it, this sounds like the gear mechanism has broken, unfortunately that part is not repairable.
