Hello David, my name is ***** ***** I'll assist you. I'm sorry you're having trouble with it. I need additional info to troubleshoot the issue.- What video devices/ sources (such as cable box DVD player etc) are connected to TV and does the problem occur on all video input sources? Thanks.

Thanks for the info - Have you tried to unplug TV power cord from wall outlet for 10 minutes to reset, replug back in and run auto tuning in TV menu to scan channels? If not yet, can you try it now and reply back with the result?

Could it be 4G interference? As I said only started 2 weeks ago.

No, cellphone transmission utilized very high frequencies.

By the way did disconnect tv for some time before electronically retuning.
There are no new updates for this TV. Could it be a firmware problem?
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.
Yes, it could be firmware problem too, does TV display correct picture of those HD channels where sound goes off?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Everything runs perfectly apart from HD channels 1,2,3,4,....which intermittently lose sound and can be regained by flicking to any other channel momentarily. Checked antenna and our other flat screen TV is OK. Any more ideas?
Expert:  Shahid replied 1 year ago.
OK, it seems TV tuner isn't processing HD channel signals for some reason, I would try to update TV firmware (internal software), please go to following Samsung link, download Firmware Upgrade File (USB type) and follow the instructions mentioned on Upgrade Guide pdf file available on same page..http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE40ES6540UXXUPlease reply back with the result and if problem resolved then a positive rating to answer would be highly appreciated.Thanks.
