My panasonic lumix TZ30 was dropped in sand in an accident

Resolved Question:

my panasonic lumix TZ30 was dropped in sand in an accident and first the lens cover was not closing...this seems to have righted itself but now every so often i get a message to turn the camera on and off which doesn't seem to fix anything and then a system zoom error message. this does not happen all the time...just temperamental and the camera won't work at all when this happens..then it seems to right itself and work for a while.

Hi Mary,This will happen if sand has gotten into the lens mechanism. The camera will need to be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly inside - a local camera repair tech can do this for you.
