I have unplugged the cable from the m3 portable. Tried several usb connections on the computer. The blue light flashes a few times then remains on, the drive appears to be spinning

Was used on tv. Because it stopped working on the tv I tried it on the computer . The M3 is not shown on drive listing even after refreshing.

There is a hard drive utilty program which can be used to check if the hard drive it good or its bad.Connect the harddrive to the computer and open disk management and let me know if the drive is listed in there or not.

right click on the windows icon you will see a drop down list click on disk management.

Try to remove the partition of the external drive and the format it using the Fat32 or NTFT format then you will be able to reuse the drive.
