My Panasonic DVD RECORDER: DMR-EZ48VEB has stopped working,

Customer Question

My Panasonic DVD RECORDER: DMR-EZ48VEB has stopped working, It will not progress further than "Hello". Resetting is to no avail.
I do have a replacement Model:DMP-BDT700EB. But my problem is I have many recorded discs which were never Finalised. Is the only way to save these discs by having the original machine repaired in order to Finalise. Is there any other way of rescuing the material on these discs. I am told a repair job on the old player is too costly....

A repair would certainly be very costly, Panasonic still make their own machines, and newer Panasonic recorders should be able to finalise disks created on older Panasonic recorders. What error do you get on your replacement model, when you put in a disk which has yet to be finalised?
