Do you see a small hole on the back of the reader?

Take a paper clip. Slide the end of the straightened paper clip into the hole. Press gently until you feel a click. This will reset your reader. Check now if the issue is still there.
Done with the reset?
Have you checked the occupied memory and available storage?
How many books approx. do you have in your reader.
Factory reset it and then restore the books again.
Doing a factory reset will delete all the data from your e reader and it will become as brand new. I am providing you the steps, just follow them
Go to Home screen. Press Menu.
Do you see Settings ?
Tap Settings, then Device Information
Under Advanced, you will see Factory Reset
Tap it and then tap Reset now
This will take time depending upon the amount of data stored on your e-reader. Let the process finish.
Connect it to the computer. Log into your kobo account
Is your device still slow?
You can set it up through wireless.You will need to enter the wifi details of your network
Try the first basic reset that I told you using the paper clip.
When you will be done with loading the books, then reply here. I will be notified.
Try to sync less number of books, if you get the option
Try using the computer this time
Do you have Kobo desktop application on your computer
Can you start the remote desktop assistance?
