You will need to factory reset the laptop to bypass the password.

Start Acer Aspire laptop, and when you see Acer screen, press F2 to enter BIOS screen. In Main option, set D2D Recovery as “Enabled”.

Press F10 to save and exit BIOS. When you see Acer screen again, press ALT + F10. Until “Acer eRecovery” option appears, choose it and press Enter.

Select “Restore System to Factory Default Settings”.

Until system restore reaches 100%, message “Recovery has been completed” pops up. Click “OK” to restart laptop.

Don’t shut off and wait for some minutes.

System basic settings window pops up.

Read the license agreement and agree it by ticking “I agree license agreement”.

Install Empowering Technology at last. And then reboot laptop

When you see Acer screen again, keep pressing ALT + F10, Until “Acer eRecovery” option appears, then choose it and press Enter.

Acer Aspire F15. About 6 months old but never actually been used, just the password ***** in. Essentially brand new.

Do you see a small gear icon from where you get the option to shut down/sleep/restart? If yes then click it so that three options are displayed (i.e. sleep,shut down,restart). Now hold the SHIFT key and press RESTART. Keep on holding the SHIFT key until your laptop restarts and shows some options on the screen. Then release the SHIFT key and click TROUBLESHOOT.
