Is the music being played via Google Play Music app?
Go to Settings, then under Apps, you will find Music player app listed. Just click it and choose uninstall new updates and then check the issue

Try closing the music player app from Task Manager
Settings, Application Manager, swipe to the "Running" section and then close it from the there
Under Settings, do you see APPLICATIONS option?
Then swipe right till you see Running Apps list
No it won't be there. Long press the home key and see if you get task manager or not
Then switch off and then on your phone once before you try to connect to bluetooth. This will delete any opened apps or temporary data of app. Then test if you still get the same issue or not
Galaxy s6 changed the task manager with Smart Manager and Recent App button.
Check if there is any update available for your phone.
Try the switching off/on thing. If it works then let me know. If it works then I will give you a fix that won't be this much time consuming.
