Customer Question

I have a Sony Mini Centre stack system - a little old - and is in need of repair!
1 The on/off switch has stopped working
2 The laser disc player has stopped working (some time ago)
3 the twin tape players are mal-functioning, and the left hand side is jammed.
It was a birthday present some time ago, but has worked well and is a superb sound system.
Can it be repaired?
Thank you.

Hi Peter,

Yes, this Sony Mini Centre stack system is repairable, however parts and labour to repair it will end up costing much more than a new equivalent system and therefore would not be economically viable.

Is this something you still wish to pursue?

Any idea of a "ball-park figure" of the repair cost?
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

It will depend if you have the tools and equipment to attempt a repair yourself, in which case you could save on labour costs and just buy parts costing around £75.

Otherwise with labour costs it is likely to cost around £150+
