I have an EPSON STYLUS SX600FW printer, linked by cable to my MacBook Pro lap-top computer. It has given absolutely stirling service (domestic use) for more than five years and was bought new. At the moment the printer icon simply jumps up and down and sends a message when tapped that the printer can not be found.When I delete the "job" it says printer found, but still refuses to print from my computer. All other functions are perfect. I use only Epson inks. There is obviously a link between computer and printer, but I can't print any correspondence. Help and recommendations please.

Can you please remove the power to the printer (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the printer, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

Can you connect it to a different USB port on the Mac and restart the Mac

I can see you are a first time user to the site. What we do here is either a question and answer type of conversation or remote support where I would actually connect to the computer and have a look and attempt to fix the problem for you.

Remote support can save a lot of time if you are not comfortable performing repairs yourself. Sometimes even with instructions you can make a mistake and make things worse.

I am a private citizen and only use my computer and printer for domestic and family matters. The aim has been and is to keep things as simple as possible. If necessary I will buy a new printer!
