I have a 12 month old Galaxy S5 on contract from My Three.

I have a 12 month old Galaxy S5 on contract from My Three. Recently the phone has occasionally switched itself of, twice whilst taking photographs, and I can only restart it by plugging it into a charger. When the phone goes dead everything dies with it, including the time and date. At the momen the phone is working normally and the fault is very intermittent. Can you please give me an opinion on the cause of the fault, and how do I get it repaired. I live in the Southampton area.

Hi there and welcome

First, can you go to settings, Applications, then select more then system apps.

Locate camera in the list, press it and press clear data

Let me know if this resolves it please.

Sorry but instructions are not clear. I go to Applications but there is no 'more then system app's as in your instructions

When you go to applications John, what do you see in the top right?

When I go to Applications I have the call icon in the top right corner:

On the applications page I have applications manager, default applications and the call icon on the top row

you need to choose Applications Manager please.

Then either press on More or swipe to the list All please

Hi Richard. On the Galaxy S5 when you press Applications Manager it lists all the applications on the phone - there is no button or icon stating More or All under Applications Manager

Richard you are no doubt as frustrated as I am but I can swipe until my finger is raw - and it doesn't change anything or bring up the All list

ok, then we will need to factory reset the phone, this will remove all your data and return the phone to new, but we cannot avoid this, so try to backup any personal data you wish to keep first.

Then go to Settings, Backup and Reset, Factory Data Reset

Complete this and once done, setup the S5 again and tell me how it now operates please.
