Why can't I link to Skype any more? My TV tells me it

Customer Question

Why can't I link to Skype any more? My TV tells me it doesn't want to connect!

Can you please clarify what you mean by link to skype.

Are you trying to login to Skype from your TV, if so what make and model of TV are you using, and can you confirm you can connect to skype from a PC or tablet?

Good afternoon,

I havent heard back from you in the last few days, and just wanted to check if you still require assistance?

Many thanks

James

The Samsung TV is Samsung UE37550
The SmartHub link to Skype has disappeared. I have tried to download it, but cannot find out how to "fix" it to the SmartHub screen.
The e-manual is no help, no are the instructions on the Skype website!!
I am connected to Skype on my desktop and tablet, but the main use would be on the TV in the living room - but...!!

PS
I am not exactly a dinosaur, but very explicit instructions would be a bonuis.

No problem, sorry your having issues with your Smart Hub TV.

To confirm Skype has been downloaded on the TV, and you would just like to add it to the main screen?

If this is the case the quickest way to do this is:

  1. Go into smart hub.
  2. Locate Skype on the menu
  3. Press the option for Edit menu (on most Samsung models this is the yellow button)
  4. Select the Skype icon (using the arrow keys and the OK\Enter button on the remote)
  5. Use the navigation arrows to select Move from the menu at the bottom of the screen
  6. Then select where on the menu you would like the Skype app to appear.
  7. Press OK

Please let me know if you need anything clarified.
