Hi Ian. Welcome to justanswer.

Tap the “Settings” icon on the home screen, tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” in the sidebar and tap “Add Account.”

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
DONE- BUT WHY 'ADD ACCOUNT' WHEN I ALREADY HAVE ONE?
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Go back and tap your AOL account and then tap your AOL email address. Tap "Password," and then type your new AOL password. Tap "Done" to save the changes. If this doesn't work then we will have to set up your account once again

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
i HAVE ALREADY DONE THAT SEVERAL TIMES BUT I GE THE SAME MESSAGE
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Delete this account and then tap ADD ACCOUNT

Customer: replied 5 months ago.

Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Enter your AOL email password ***** the "Password" box.

Type a description for your email account into the "Description" box and tap “Next.”

NO GOOD - IT HAS SENT ME A MESSAGE THAT THE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER HAS TIMED OUT -THOUGH I DID MANAGE TO PUT IN MY NAME AND E-MAIL ADDRESS
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Restart your router and then again try

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
OK - I HAVE RESTARTED THE ROUTER AND HAVE THE 'ACCOUNT' WINDOW UP WITH ALL DETAILS - INCLUDING THE OUTGOING MAIL SERVER BUT THERE IS NO MENTION OF THE INCOMING ROUTE SERVER....
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Have you entered details of outgoing mail server? If yes, then tap next

Customer: replied 5 months ago.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Oh - and still with the 'Delete Account' option
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

Are you getting any error now. Check your emails and try to send an email from your Aol account

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
After an initial NO e-Mails all of our exchange has now appeared - so perhaps all is well. Thank you. But how do i get rid of the delete option?
Expert:  nathan_mills replied 5 months ago.

You do not have to get rid of it. Just don't go to Settings unless there is any issue.
