Can you please remove the power to the TV (so unplug it from the power socket).
Then on the actual TV, hold the power button for 60 seconds then release.
Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the TV, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

This can be the case or too much light around the TV.
But very likely the IR light is faulty and the replacement will resolve this. It was a different issue to what we have solved now, but I would try in a dark room at night with no lights to see if this helps, but in all honesty it will be a faulty remote, this is the most common cause.
