email on iphone not sending, tried- going to settings deleted & reinput, rebooted, tried wifi on & off.
the outgoing mail server sign not in bold like incoming, use btinternet

Hi, and thank you for asking your question.

First off, on your iPhone, please delete the existing account, then go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add account. Next, do NOT choose the ‘Yahoo’ option from the list, but instead, tap the ‘Other’ option from the bottom of the list > Add Mail Account - and enter the following details:

Name – It can be anything you want, usually your real name
Address – Your full Yahoo or BT Internet email address
Password – Your email account password
Description – Something like ‘work’ or ‘personal'

Press “Next” and allow the verification to complete(this may take a few minutes).

On the next screen it will want you to input incoming and outgoing mail server details:


Tap ‘IMAP’ at the top, then input the following settings:

Incoming mail server settings:


Host name: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Username: Your full BT Internet email address
Password: Your email account password

Outgoing mail server settings:


Host name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Username: Your full BT Internet email address
Password: Your email account password

Press ‘Next’, then slide the notes and the mail options to be ‘On’ and press ‘Save’

Finally, please check your email on the device and see if it is working. If you are still not able to send out emails, please change the following settings as well:

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your BT email account. A window will appear; tap on your email address, then scroll down to the bottom of the window and tap where it says ‘SMTP’.

Next, tap the primary server (which should be smtp.mail.yahoo.com), then set the following settings

‘Use SSL’ should be ‘ON’
Server port should be ‘465’
'Use Server Authentication' should be 'ON'.

Press DONE, and check if you are able to send/receive emails all right thereafter.

imap.mail.yahoo.com is not responding message, could not verify

Are you able to send out emails, however? Also, did you make sure to use the correct password XXXXX your account?

Also, please change the following settings for your account now:

Please rest assured; you will get back all of the emails once we have set up your account correctly.

Now, please set the following as the SMTP server for the account: smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Also, the server port should be 993 for the IMAP server, and 465 for the SMTP server, with SSL turned ON for both.

Finally, 'Server Authentication' should be set to 'ON', if listed.

the POP server imap.mail.yahoo is not responding. check your network connection and that you have entered correct info in the Incoming Mail Server field message showing

Ah, I see. Did you select the POP or the IMAP option when setting up the account earlier, using 'Other'?

went other - add mail account - no pop or imap option

Ah, all right - we need to create an IMAP account instead. Could you please delete the POP account now, then create a new IMAP account following the directions I had provided earlier, and let me know how it goes?

BTInternet has switched their servers to Yahoo! now, hence we are setting up the same for your account. Now, please look carefully after clicking 'Next' - do you see IMAP | POP listed at the top?

tried doing it 3 times ! I cant find where gives an option, might go back to shouting @ it!
