can you tell me for which email service this is? eg: Hotmail, Yahoo?

Yahoo for a mac desktop which is fine and an ipad which isn't working (email)

It simply sends me back to settings to check my details

ok, so it accepts the password then.

So what then happens when you try to send an email there.

nothing

ok, go to Settings, Mail.

Then press on the Yahoo Account and go to the bottom and press

Delete Account

Once done, hold the power and home button for about 10 seconds, until the Apple Logo appears, then release the buttons to let it restart.

Once it has, go to Settings, Mail and add the Yahoo account again.

Tell me if you can then send from it please.

Followed your instructions and got nowhere. Now have no email at all

Sorry not to have been back to you sooner. I tried the suggestions sent in your latest reply, and lost the email altogether. Then I tried entering a new email name and account, and got that up and running but every time I go into it it requires the password and verification. I have now refound the old email ( ie [email protected]) but the same thing is happening with that that it requires p/w and verification every time and is a pain.
