Hello my name isXXXXX and I would be happy to try and help you with this.

You said you forgot your password XXXXX your Hotmail account? Hotmail no longer exists and has been replaced by the www.Outlook.com website. Is this the site you are using to try and sign into your email?

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.
Helen,

No I am not saying it is registred to someone else. Have you been to this page?

https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

That page is Microsoft asking me for my ntl email address and a Microsoft security code which I do not have

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.
You should be presented with this when you go to that page.

Why are you having trouble signing in?
I forgot my password
I know my password, but can't sign in
I think someone else is using my Microsoft account
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes but it leads me to a question I cannot answer wanting a 7 number code I do not have

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.

Ok, have you gone through the more lengthier recovery process?

I have submitted my required information to Microsoft and await their reply on your advice

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.
Excellent. Microsoft says that you should receive a response within 24 hours, but I wouldn't be surprised if it sometimes take a little longer. If they are able to verify your information they will send the code you need to unlock your account and get back in.

are we leaving this question open until I get back into my account?

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.
If that is what you would like to do that is fine.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

thank you,.. please allow me to get back to you for no added charge

Expert:  Chris R. replied 3 years ago.
No additional charges are added with sessions. You can come back later to continue. Have a great day.

Hi! My name is Josh and I will be assisting you. Let's get started!

I am going to give you steps to a private forum that is checked by Outlook/Hotmail moderators that can assist you in real time.

First you are going to need to create another email address with Hotmail. Please go to the following link to create that.
https://signup.live.com/signup.aspx

Once you create the new address do the following.

Please click http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/hotmail/hotmail-support

Next choose "Your account has been temporarily blocked"

Tell them you have not been successful with the recovery form.

Be sure that under "Enter the email address (Microsoft Account) affected by this issue:"

You provide them the email address that is blocked and not the new one.

Under ‘Enter your contact email address:' give them the new account you just created.

In most cases they will respond in 24-72 hours, depending on how many requests they have waiting before yours.

A moderator can take a closer look at your account and work with you to try and help you get back in.

As well as sending the message directly to the moderator it can sometimes be quicker to reach out to them in their public forums and they may message you or ask you to message them privately with more information.

Go to the following link and click Participate and then click Ask a question on the menu at the top. A box will appear. In that box type what has happened. Remember to be very polite and give as much information as you can.
