Since 13/04/2014 our Hotmail account in folder shows no emails

Resolved Question:

Since 13/04/2014 our Hotmail account in folder shows no emails received although we know that there have been several in the past 3 days. Please help us to access them in the usual way through our inbox.

What is the email program you use on the windows 8, i.e., the Mail tile app icon or Outlook, etc.?

Yes we can view our messages on the Hotmail.com website and the email program we use on windows8 is Outlook. We will attempt to go to join me as you suggest.

Sorry, what's the model of your Dell windows 8 computer?

Do you have Microsfot Office / Outlook version 2013, 2010, 2007, etc.?

Is there any error or message when using / receiving email messages in Outlook?

Model is Dell Inspiron 3847. The outlook is version 2013 as it is a new computer. There is no error message when using and receiving email messages in Outlook

In outlook, can you go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings
, then select your hotmail email
, then click on Change...
, then check if your account type is POP3 or IMAP...
, then check all (more) settings / tab there, and compare these settings:

IMAP:


  • Incoming (IMAP) Server

    • Server address: imap-mail.outlook.com

    • Port: 993

    • Encrypted Connection: SSL

  • Outgoing (SMTP) Server

    • Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com

    • Port: 25 (or 587 if 25 is blocked)

    • Authentication: Yes

    • Encrypted Connection: TLS

 

POP3:

 

  • Incoming (POP3) Server

    • Server address: pop-mail.outlook.com

    • Port: 995

    • Encrypted Connection: SSL

  • Outgoing (SMTP) Server

    • Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com

    • Port: 25 (or 587 if 25 is blocked)

    • Authentication: Yes

    • Encrypted Connection: TLS

You're welcome. No problem, please take your time. In the mean time, you can use the hotmail.com website for email temporarily.

If the above suggestion does not work, then in Outlook, go to File >Account Settings>Account Settings
, then select your hotmail account
, then select the Remove option and remove it for now.


, then click on the New... option (or go to File -> Add account option)
, then enter your name, hotmail email address and email password
, then click on Next / Finish
, then your email should work fine in Outlook.
; if needed, restart the computer, and check.
