Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

I would like to help you with this e-mail address issue.

Can you, please, tell me which e-mail client program do you use (e.g. Outlook)?
Also, can you please describe what do you mean by "auto e-mail address"?

Thank you,
Tom
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Outlook is the one used, and also BT e-mailing.

Th auto addresss shows when on a 'page' and I wish to send/contact somebody and the address automatically shows in the SENDER section.

When using the normal e-mail section [replying to incoming mail] the correct address is always shown. The auto sender address is for an address which was closed in 2013.

Thank you Sheila.

Can you tell me is this occurring when starting a new blank e-mail?
Also, is it occurring both in Outlook and in BT web mail?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

This happens when starting a blank e-mail on outlook and always come back in the FAILED MAIL NOTICE.

Normal e-mails issued on my bt.com [from the mail sector] show the correct address. It is when I use another source, as if the computer itself retains the data and will not allow any adjustment.

OK, this appears to be the setting in your Outlook account.

Please open Outlook and :
1. Click on menu "Tools", then "Account Settings"

2.
In the Account Settings dialog, on E-mail tab, in the accounts list look for your account with that email address (probably the only account there)

3.
Double-click on the account in the list to open the Change E-mail Account dialog

4.
In the Change E-mail Account dialog look for the "Email Address" field - please let me know if this field shows the "wrong" e-mail address you refer to
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Account settings does not appear on my tools listings. What other title will they show as?

Expert:  AAATom replied 3 years ago.
Hm, strange.

Please try Tools / Options then "Mail Setup" tab and look for "E-mail Accounts" button.

Please let me know if this does get you to the Account Settings dialog.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I still cannot trace Account settings in this dialogue.

Could it have a different name or even a different access?

I have been through all the items from A to Z in the drop-down section.

Expert:  AAATom replied 3 years ago.
Hm, that is really strange.
Please make sure you are using Outlook not BT mail as my instructions refer to Outlook.

Can you tell me which version of Outlook are you using (or version of Office)?
Expert:  AAATom replied 3 years ago.
Sheila,

if you would like I could remote into your computer (do "screen sharing") and do that for you.
It is completely safe, you can see what I am doing and can stop the session at any time.
If you are interested let me know and I will give you instructions how to establish the connection.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Would you care to have a look at the listing I have mentioned because I am sure it had a tick in the box. Which it no longer shows.

We could share if you want to check.

Expert:  AAATom replied 3 years ago.
OK, Sheila, I will gladly have a look.

A remote connection is established using a small program called TeamViewer QuickSupport.
You can download it by going to the main TeamViewer page http://www.teamviewer.com and click "Join RemoteControl Session" link below the big green button.

Please start it after download. It will show a window with "Your ID" and "Password".

Copy both numbers and paste them here. I will then use them to connect.

I am sorry, Sheila, but your last post came trough empty.
Can you please repeat it?
Expert:  AAATom replied 3 years ago.
Sheila, I can see a new question asking for me - is that you (I cannot see the name until I respond)?

There is no need to open a new question, we can proceed here.

Can you tell me, please, is it that you cannot download the TemViewer?
