Hi and Thanks for using Just Answer.A couple question that may help solve this 1) Who is your email provider for the email you use with Windows Live Mail? IE whats after the @ im your email address2) Have there been any changes to your email account ? Ie have you changed your password *****?3) Sometimes this can happen because the company providing you your email account changes their email servers we can trouble shoot this
my email provide is instra.com @epicscreen.tv no changes to my email account ( bizarre!)

Generally when the issues happen in windows email its because the provider has changed some settingCan you go to windows mail Click tools then click accounts and check what you have listed as your email servers according to instra site it should be something like mail.epicscreen.tv The trick since you cannot send emails is you want to make sure your sending or smtp server is set as well should be the same and then you want to click on the outgoing mail requires authentication and put your login info for your email account
thanks - I've checked these settings and they seem to me to be set up properly as they recommend
ok can you also go and check what port the out going mail is set to use? You can go into your settings and click on account then click on mail server and hit properties and see what port it is using?
usually this is set to 25
outgoing mail port is 465
that could be your problem try changing it to 25
according to Instra the ports they use are 25 and 1025 so you wouldnt be able to contact their email servers on port 465
OK, the send/receive message says "not connected"
And the 25 was changed for the outgoing server correct?

incoming mail port 993
And have you been able to receive emails at all or is that off too? just checking

do you have more than one email account in your windows live program?
though this is a new problem..

do you happen to get any error codes when you try to send ?
on my pc, it just says "not connected". On my iphone, it rejects the emails its being sent to "Server not recognised"
what server name do you have in there for the epicscreen.tv account?
for just the outgoing server
same for the incoming server too
and you receive the incoming fine correct?
ok their setup site it seemed the email format should be mail.epicscreen.tv
OK, but that's not how they've instructed me to set it up -but I can change the outgoing server to this if you want me to try it

If theyve given you the instructions their name should be correct I was just going by the information on their hosting site as it was what was giving those instructions

and you typed in the server as mail.epicscreen.tv for both incoming and outgoing
and have your username in as your full email address for the authentication and retyped in your password?
