I use BT.Yahoo email. Recently I found I was unable to upload

I use BT.Yahoo email. Recently I found I was unable to upload a file from My Documents to attach to an email The attachment appears in the body of the text, showing that it is downloading, but it does not end. I checked the size of the file, and this is well within the limits set for such attachments.

Yes I remembered what you did last time, seems my browser is unstable?

Whilst you are on, I have had difficulties with the start up screen when logging on. The whole thing goes to a complete mess or mass of merged colours and a type of x-ray effect, making it difficult and almost impossible to work with. I opened Display at Control Panel, and clicked on the troubleshooter for Aero and transparency(?) which cleared up this on the screen, leaving me with the following messages:

DESKTOP WINDOW MANAGER DISABLED

COLOR DEPTH SET TOO LOW (which was ticked as cleared)

Any advice as to how I address the problem as each time I close down, and restart I have to go through the same troubleshooting process.

Do you have Firefox installed ?
Have you tested in Firefox ? if you have the Same issue.
Sounds like a service is disabled -
Have you tried a system Restore ?

If I try a restore, will I lose much data etc?

you wont lose any with a systen restore sorry for the delay my internet was down !

Click start

type system restore in the serach box

click the system Restor Icon

A box will open

click show all Restore points

then choose a date when all was ok

Then let it restore
