An Apple problem! Last Sunday evening, my e-mail i/d and passwords

Resolved Question:

An Apple problem! Last Sunday evening, my e-mail i/d and passwords stopped working. When I kept trying, I was told that my account was being locked as a security measure.
I tried to reset the password ***** the security questions but was told my answers were wrong. I do know my date of birth!
When I googled, I saw that several people had the same problem a couple of years back so I was relieved that it's not just me!
Meanwhile I can't get at any e-mails. Help, please

Yes to remote. The e-mail I have used for years until now is Apple Mail. Since that is no longer working - on imac or Mac book i am using gmail

When I click the joinme logo, I am told that it is flawed . I have also had the response that I should move it to the desktop. I am stuck.
