That's very good of you to offer to do this for me. However, while I was waiting for your response I checked my mail again and it worked. I am going to contact a colleague in BT to ask him what is wrong with their system. If I do have more problems I will come back to you.

I have spoken to my BT Colleague and he has checked on their system and finds that BT are having problems with a large number of their customer's e-mails. They apparently have engineers working on the problems and hope they will sort the system out later today. My system works and then fails. I reboot the user name and password ***** it works, but on the next occasion fails. BT is in my opinion an organization sinking very quickly !
However, thanks again for your help, no doubt BT in the end made you aware of their problems.

I have only just picked up this message as I had to go out to a meeting after working with you yesterday on my e-mail problem.
I will take your advice and look at gmail and Hotmail over the weekend as alternatives to btinternet.
Thank you once again for all your help yesterday. It appears BT has resolved their technical problem as I picked up e-mails this morning.
