Hi, and thank you for asking your question.
When did you first start having this issue with Thunderbird?
May I set up a quick remote session, which will allow me to connect directly to your screen and assist you with this issue?
Keep me posted.

Okay, let's get started with the remote session now. Are you using Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox or Safari as your browser?
Keep me posted.

Okay, let's get started with the remote session now, so that I can check the issue with Thunderbird. Please open up the following link:
http://www.justanswer.com/remotedesktop/join.aspx?Session=8fd29bf2-88e4-46a7-b4f7-f8759a9069a8
Click 'I agree', then download the remote tool when prompted. An 'Elsinore Screen Connect' file will be downloaded by your browser (at the very bottom.)
OPEN/RUN the file from your downloads, and I'll be connected.
If you face any issues, just reply back to me below.
Thank you.

Hi, we seem to have gotten disconnected from the remote session for some reason; please leave me a reply when you get this, and we will continue further. Thank you.

What is happening? Is the problem fixed yet?

Expert:  Bryan replied 2 years ago.
Hi - no, we got disconnected from the remote session for some reason; your screen was showing up blank at my end. Let me provide you with the steps on this page for now.
First off, please press CTRL + ALT + DEL and click "Start Task Manager". In the Task Manager window, click on the "Processes" tab at the top.
In the list of processes, check carefully - do you see a "thunderbird.exe" process listed?
Keep me posted.
