I upgraded my iPad last week . I had an email today with dozens of copy readers and stoopidly pressed " reply all " , at which point my emails all disappeared and I now only have a white screen ...any ideas how to re- instate my 3 email accounts ? Thanks

Hello,
I am the person that will be helping you today.
What can be done is to simply restore your iPad to an earlier date by restoring a saved backup in iTunes. When you update in iTunes, it makes backups, so there should be a few to choose from.
Please, follow the instructions below to solve your problem:
- Connect the iPhone to the computer that you have been using the phone and iTunes with
- Once that is complete, right click the iPhone listing in the left panel of the iTunes window
- Choose "Restore from Backup"
- Choose a backup date from before the time that everything vanished and restore.
Now your iPhone will be back up and have all the restored information from your last sync.

It's an iPad not an iPhone and I haven't linked it to my computer ?

I am very sorry for my mistake. The instructions for the iPhone and iPad are the same, however. When you 'upgraded' your iPad last week, does that mean that you updated software on it or that you upgraded to a new iPad?

Yes I think so ...it's backed up

Often times, this may be a simple fault. Have you tried turning the iPad off and on? Please, do the following: Hold down the Home key on the front of the iPad and the power button at the same time. Hold both of the buttons down until it resets and then let go.

If the accounts do not return, you should be able to simply add the iCloud account to your email app. Choose to add a new account, choose iCloud, and follow the instructions.
