The calendar on my Apple computer freezes and sends me a message saying "The server responded with an error." The only way of exiting is to Force Quit Calendar, which is now effectively useless.
The problem has clearly come about since I tried to attach a Hotmail email to a recurring appointment. When I open the Calendar the email sits frozen on the top of everything other than the error message.
I thought the problem was to do with the Apple software, but they tell me it's a Hotmail problem they can't fix.
And ideas for a solution would be very welcome.

First, is this occurring within Apple Mail? Or another mail program such as outlook 2016?

I'm not sure. can you advise me how to get the answer for you? (I simply access Hotmail through the icon on my MacBook Air)

Can you describe the icon you click please?

I can see you are a first time user to the site. What we do here is either a question and answer type of conversation or remote support where I would actually connect to the computer and have a look and attempt to fix the problem for you.
