I have a question about maternity leave (in Scotland). I work for a local council under a temporary contract which is renewed every few months (I started earlier this year - the plan is to make me permanent at some point next year). I currently have 5 years continuous service at this job (various councils, but no break in service).
If I become pregnant while still temporary, and my contract is due to expire during my pregnancy/maternity leave and they do not renew... Do I have any protection? Do I still receive any maternity pay?
