If a company buys another and because of this only one person

Resolved Question:

If a company buys another and because of this only one person is needed now for their job roles who gets made redundant. Is it automatically the employee of the newly acquired company or the employee of the existing company or is it rightful that the new employer can decide who he thinks is bet for job

The employer has to decide who is best for the job. There's no automatic right or wrong. There has to be an assessment of each employee's abilities.
Some employers do a point scoring exercise based on the job description but there is no hard rule as long as the employer acts fairly.
