Underactive thyroid is difficult to diagnose sometimes.
The thyroid blood tests should include serum TSH, free T4 levels.
They should be repeated after 3 months if suspicion is high.
Beside thyroid, there can be other possibilities as well for your symptoms.
Diabetes, iron deficiency, and menopause can cause these symptoms as well.
Adrenal gland insufficiency is another uncommon possibility.
Hence, thee conditions also should be ruled out with fasting blod sugar, hemoglobin a1c level, serum feritin level, serum cortisol at 8 AM
