Panic reaction can be due to the excessive hormone secretions.
Thyroid hormone, adrenal hormones ( steroid hormone), growth hormone problem can cause panic attacks.
You need to get an extensive blood tests including serum cortisol in the morning, serum TSH, free t4 and T3, IGF 1 level, prolactin level.
If there is any hormone iregularities, then that can be treated medically.
Sometimes, pituitary surgery may be required.
Also, I will also request to check for diabetes insipidus due to the excess secretion of the ADH, a hormone that comes from pituitary gland.
This condition can cause electrolyte disturbances resulting in panic attacks.
Besides the hormonal problems, underlying heart condition like irregular heart beats can cause these symptoms.
24 Hour holter monitoring should be considered as well.
