I am currently being treated by a London based private Endo,

Customer Question

I am currently being treated by a London based private Endo, i have been feeling unwell for nearly a year, having had an underactive thyroid for over half my life and having always taken thyroxine i am puzzled as to why the slide in my health, i have been informed 2 years ago that i have Hashimotos and wonder if this is the cause for the flare ups of bad health i am suffering. The endo started me on mild HC 2 months ago and i dont feel any benefit whatsoever i have asked to try increasing the dose of 5mg twice daily but he has said no.
My throat is hard and swollen, i am suffering my anxiety and insomnia, general aches and pains, sore hands and feet, and having always been cold just lately i am struggling with the heat, i feel weak and shaky and totally exhausted.
I have had lots of bloods which show i have high RT3 otherwise everything else looks ok and also my iron saturation is low at 18%. I am back to see the Endo next week ive asked for a scan on my throat as it feels like i have a golf ball stuck in there, and tests for lymes disease, diabetes and fibromalgia.
He has suggested that my symptoms are a post viral infection, im struggling with this as its been ongoing for months and im feeling worse the last few weeks, my own GP isnt much help and just pushes me to take anti depressants which i have refused, during a pretty bad spell of insomnia he presribed me Zoplicone but is resisting giving me anymore as worries ill be addicted to them.
Any further help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Jennie

Dear customer, Thanks for your question. What were the results of your thyroid tests? What is the dosage of thyroxine you are presently taking? What is your hemoglobin level? Why are you refusing to take antidepressants for anxiety?
