Hi
What is the position regarding capital assets?
Claire
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

He has £8,000 in shares. He is saving his government pension. He did have assests a house and a company but he tells me he signed them all over 13 years ago ( year 2000) when we had been together since 1992 but he did not discuss this with me. Then when we get on he comes home and says it really is his sons business as his brothers don't ring him. They are now buying another house for the grandchildren. And I am still sitting in a rented house. 20 years later. The whole family have their own houses but I still pay rent. This house they are buying they want the mortgage to be paid up in 10 years. The family business is being run by all the brothers gound maintenance engineering (JCB plant machinery)

Hi
It would be helpful if you could share the full background so that I can give you a meaningful answer

I worked at Roadworks where I met my husband. He was married at the time. He left his wife all his children were married and had their own families. He left his wife in the matrimonial home where she moved her partner in. 12 years later I noticed in the phone book everything was still in my husbands name. He only gave me £100 per week for 11 years I never saw a wage slip or bank statement in all that time. Then a letter arrived saying he had shares of £8,000. He said it was payment from his ex-wife for the house. I have now been told this year they have a mortgage on the house for £70,000 but in the meantime a large house has been

purchased which his son has been living in just after we got married. My husbands son's wife told me that my husband said he did not want to move into this house as I would not move out of my rented house. So his son moved in. When my husband and I got married my husband told me the next thing we buy will have our name on it. They are now buying another house but it is for the grandson. And we are still living in a rented house. So yes I am quite upset as I am getting older myself I am 54.

Hi
Are these houses held in your husbands name?
Claire
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

No nothing is in my husband's name it is all in the ex-wife and her husbands name. This new house is in his son's name and his wife's son's name. This new house they are going to buy will be put in the grandson's name.
