Shared ownership legal rights when one partner wants to leav

My son and his girlfriend have bought a 46% share in a shared ownership scheme through a housing association. The girlfriend now wants to separate and leave the property, is my son entitled to stay in the property by himself?

Can he get the mortgage company to release his ex?

They have a mortgage of a £68,000 and we provided a deposit of £12k
I think the total value of the property was £180k.
They is most they could borrow on their wages. We are worried Bromford Housing would say if one partner leaves the other person would also have to leave even though we would help my son financially with the rent

Leaseholders covenants, landlords covenants, provisos,Langland and tenant covenants act 1985 declaration
