Customer Question

Divorced 8 years ago. Daughter now wants to change her name, ex-husband will only agree if my new partner signs a Parental Agreement - if we do sign the new Parental Agreement, does this mean that he no longer has to financially support our daughter?

Hi
What from has he actually asked you to sign?
Clare
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

An agreement which just gives my finance parental responsibility for our daughter meaning he can look after her if I am taken ill or travel abroad with him.

Hi
Well from your point of view there is everything to gain and nothing to lose
The form will indeed give your partner Step Parental Responsibility for your child - but the biological father will retain it and will remain liable for Child maintenance
