Customer Question

I have parental responsibility for my daughter my wife having left the marital home 5 months ago. She is about to take the child to her parents in Spain but will not be residing with her there. My daughter speaks little spanish and they speak no English. My wife refuses to give me any contact details - her new man will not respond to my several requests as to his address/telephone number. He does not respond to my texts or emails.

Hi
Thank you for your question.
My name is Clare
I will do my best to help you but I need some further information first.
Do you mean she intends to leave the child there permanently?
How old is the child and what contact have you had since separation?
Clare
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The child lives with me. She is 9 years old and I don't think she intends to leave the child there permanently. My anxiety is that my daughter has had a lot to contend with even prior to my wife's departure inasmuch as my wife
Very often failed to come home from work when expected - not returning home for maybe 2 days. I have never met the new man nor do I have any details about him. I am not suggesting there. Is anything untoward about him but I feel It is my duty to ensure That her mother is giving her the appropriate consideration she deserves.

Hi
So your ex just wishes to take the child to her grand parents - for how long?
what contact does the mother usually have?
Clare
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
My worry is that although with her grandparents my daughter does not speak their language nor they her's and her mother will not be staying with her. I think this is for 2 weeks. Usually she stays with her mother every other weekend and overnight for one day in the week. School holidays are spent with me in the main except for every other weekend.

Hi
Does your daughter wish to visit her grandparents - does she know them?
Clare
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes,she does know them and the visit is NOT a problem. The fact that her mother will not be staying with our daughter for the visit is troubling me in that my daughter will be unable to communicate with them. The grandparents are CERTAINLY not any problem. The lack of her mother's presence is what worries me as I feel my daughter may be stressed by this. She wants me to go too but I feel this could be seen as antagonising to my wife. We are not yet divorced.

The crisis seems to be over. Thank you for your help. I would like to delete my account but understand the payment already taken - £36 - is not refundable.
