My partner of 20 years walked out of our house last week declaring

Customer Question

My partner of 20 years walked out of our house last week declaring that he was moving in with another woman. We have a son - 15 years old. I bagged all of his belongings which he has taken some and the rest in in the garage. I have asked for the front door key back which he has refused. What rights do I have as we were not married but were engaged for 15 years. I need to move on - what are my options?

Who owns the house

Joint mortgage as per my statement 'our house'

. Joint bank account. We also have our own personal bank accounts. All bills are paid for via the joint account.

It does not state 'joint mortgage' in the question before me. But I will let someone else answer the question
