What is the difference between divorce and legal seperation

Customer Question

what is the difference between divorce and legal seperation

In a divorce you cease to be husband and wife and inheritance rights etc end on divorce. In a legal separation you remain married and any legal relationship has to be dealt with as a matter of contract between the parties so as to ensure that property and inheritance rights are resolved between the parties. Happy to discuss further. I hope that helps. Please leave a positive rating so that I am credited for my time.
