Hi there ,Steve ,good afternoon to you

Ok if the vehicle is running lumpy/misfiring at idle and under load on this engine the ignition coil pack (where the plugs leads fit onto ) should be suspected (a common issue on the older KA )
This type of fault results in a hesitation feeling when accelerating hard or under load but isn't realy that noticeable at higher revs /speeds

If there is an engine missfire present prolonged driving can dange the catalitic convertor as the missfire allows raw fuel to enter the catalyst which can damage it internally so it is advised to have any type if missfire resolved asap
