Hi, I have a 1999 2.5 ltr automatic Ford Cougar V83 DLD. I cannot turn-off the side lights. so all I kept doing is disconecting the negative. The car is in the electrical garage now, they cant locate the diode, which they say is the problem. My problem is the bill, it stands at £300 and rising, at this rate it won't be worth keeping the car.
Please, please can you help? I need to know the exact location of this diode so they can replace it.I believe it's inside a relay..but which one??

Hello, I'm sorry you've had to wait for an answer, I hope the following assists you.

As far as I'm aware there is no diode in a relay, it's more likely to be a central timer module, fuse box or bulb outage module fault (if fitted) below is a diagnostic procedure that should assist.

Unfortunately due to the age of the car I can't get the connector locations for the CJB connectors that need disconnecting but if you match the wiring colours to pins this shouldn't be a problem.
