Hi there ,good afternoon to you

Ok is the missfire more a hesitation eveident on harder types of acceleration

Do any warning lights come on

Does the fault clear itself ie you don't to key off to resolve the issue

it seems to happen when cruising 2000 revs only once has management light came on but then returned to normal

Hi there thanks

Ok if the engine management light has came in in correspondence with the missfire then ideally you should have a fault code check done to clarify what sub system the issue lies with ie fuel ,boost issues

In my experience the most common issue we see regarding missfires issues are injector faults (shorted internally )
This will log a code stating ie injector cylinder 3 short/open (a fault code check will clarify this )
This fault can be very intermitent in cases where the injector shorting is the issue
Thus a fault code can save a lot of time

Partially blocked fuel filters or sticking turbos vanes would cause a similar issue but it is more a hesitation that is felt rather than a missfire and is also more on acceleration than cruise
