Hi I have a ford focus 07 plate 1.6 climate, the car keeps

Resolved Question:

Hi
I have a ford focus 07 plate 1.6 climate, the car keeps going into limp mode then goes away after restart and the codes are P0221 and P2135, I have tried a replacement throttle body from a fiends car and this makes no difference but when I play with the wires in the connector the fault goes away, I have contacted ford who say I will need a new wiring loom at £450.00 is there any other option.
Thanks
Mark

Hi there good afternoon to you
Ok in my experience of this fault the fault will lie with a contact corrosion on the pins and TPS sensor
This causes a loss of power and sometimes the MIL is illuminated in conjunction with DTCs P2135, P0211 ,P2119, P2176, the cause is a contact corrosion on both, the pins within the TP sensor and the wiring harness electrical connector.and sometimes there is hairline cracks in the wiring (you will not see them ) and the wiring should not by be repaired due ti the sensitive signals of the TPS
To rectify this concern, the electronic throttle body must be removed, a new TP sensor and a new fuel charging wiring harness with both gold plated pins should be installed.
Sometimes these screws break as they are held in by loctite
Do slacken them a tiny bit at a time
If they do break you need to replace the throttle body
(These throttle bodys can't be swapped vehicle to vehicle unless they are the exact same and they are visually identical but serial numbers/build dates are different in some models ) even though they visually identical
There is a seperate kit to resolve this issue so you don't need to replace full wiring loom
Parts Required
Description Finis Code
TP sensor 1 483 794 x1
Fuel charging wiring harness (vehicles with 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (Sigma) 1 482 539
Fuel charging wiring harness (vehicles with 1.6L Duratec-16V (Sigma) 1 482 537
Electronic throttle body (if required) 1 483 795 1
Screw 1 362 990 x 4
From memory they changed this to a full kit but your ford parts department will clarify this for you
