Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you today.
The first thing you need to do is have the car connect to a suitable scan tool and read what code has been stored.
There are 100's of possible codes so trying to guess which is causing your problem is near impossible.
When any code is detected it will bring the light on.
Once you know what the code is you can then check the system to find what has caused it.
It could be a faulty component, faulty wiring or a mechanical fault.
hello, thanks for the response it looks like a visit to a mechanic.
You can buy a cheap scan tool for about £20.
Will tell you the code but you still have to work out what caused it.
unfortunatey i'm not mechanicaly minded. think the best option for me is a visit to the mechanic
As long as the light doesn't flash it shouldn't be too serious.
no its just a solid ***** *****ght
If it ever starts flashing, you need to get it checked asap.
Do you need anything else today?
no that the only prob I have. i'll get onto the mechanic that serviced the car earlier this year
thanks for your help
