Resolved Question:

Ford fiesta titanium automatic 2009 - how to replace the foglight

Hello, I hope the following assists you.

To remove the fog light you need to either remove the undershield that is along the bottom of the bumper or if you can't get access to the underside remove the headlight.

To remove the headlight remove the 2X Torx 30 screws and the plastic clip through the bumper into the light, the headlamp then lifts up to unclip it from the plastic retainer underneath.

Once the headlamp is out or the undertray is off you can then access the 2 screws that hold the fog light, the light is also on 2 locating pins. To remove the bulb just turn it.

There is a good guide at http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/tutorials/article/5-guide-mk7-fog-lamp-change/ that should help. I personally remove the undershield as I have access to a ramp.

Let me know if I can assists further and I'll reply as soon as I'm able to.

Best wishes,

Sean.

Hi Sean,

In my question I was talking about the rear fog light, while you gave instructions about a front fog light, as you say " the headlamp then lifts up"

Please give me detailed instructions for the rear fog light - right hand side ( from the rear of vehicle ) below the boot.

Many thanks,

Hello again,

sorry for the misunderstanding.

The rear fog lamp is held in by two screws that are accessed from underneath the car, they are awkward to get to especially one as it is tight to the rear panel of the car. With the rear wheel removed remove the wheel arch liner in the area of the rear bumper, you can peel it back so you can see the outer screw.

Below shows the location of the screws in the bumper (the bumper is removed for clarity in the image) but as I said earlier the screws are awkward, if you don't have a very short Torx screwdriver you may need to unfasten the bumper for better access although I've never had to.

Hi Sean,

Please advise the size of the short Torx screwdriver i.e. M4, M5 etc., used to release the fog light, as I may have to invest in one to get the job done.

Hi Sean

What size Torx screwdriver do I need i.e. M4, M5 etc ?

I need to know, as I need to buy one to get the job done.

Many thanks,

Hello again, sorry for the delay. The screw is either a T20 or T25, I'm not 100% from memory but believe it's the T20. Don't buy a normal length screwdriver as you won't get into the screw that is tight access buy something such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-33PC-Security-Magnetic-Bit-Set-Screwdriver-Holder-Torx-Hex-Star-Silverline-/131235615987?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e8e4094f3 Let me know if I can assist further. Best regards, Sean.
