Hi there good afternoon to you
Ok is this fault intermitent
Does it seem more noticeable on hard acceleration
Does it feel a bit like the engine is holding back /kanagrooing -jerking when fault is present
Regards Brian
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

it started out intermitent but in recent weeks has become more consistant. it is definatly more noticible on hard acceleration. there is slight jercking when accelerating but i tend to back off once i notice it happening.

Hi thanks
Ok from your description of your issue I would suspect a partially blocked fuel filter
A lot of people overlook this as a root concern but over the years I have seen so many 1.8tdci with a partially blocked (emulsified filters )
On hard acceleration the engine demands more fuel thus if you have a partial blockage it's noticeable under hard acceleration
The filter should be replaced every 37.5k but I have seen them block a lot earlier
This would definatley be the first port of call with your symptoms
